Ski Big Bear IS Winter!

 

Ski Big Bear will create a winter experience for thousands of skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers this season. And when Mother Nature does not make your back yard white with fresh snow you can count on Ski Big Bear’s impressive snowmaking system to create a winter wonderland on Masthope Mountain. This system offers the latest technology and a fleet of more than 120 snow guns and machines to cover the entire mountain.

Snow is only part of winter at Ski Big Bear. This season’s addition of the new Double/Double Thundercloud chair lift brings the total to 6 lifts including 4 chairlifts and 2 Magic Carpet lifts. Everyone knows what a chairlift is but a Magic Carpet is the latest and easiest way for new skiers and boarders to get up the hill. It is a conveyer system covered with a special snow carpet that looks similar to the systems used to move people in airports. Simply scoot your skis or board up to the carpet and just like magic you stand there and move back to the top of the hill. It’s a great way to learn or practice skiing and snowboarding without the dreadful tales of being dragged up the hill by an old-fashioned rope or T-Bar. A Magic Carpet ride is easier, safer and most importantly more fun!

Ski BIG BEAR has developed an entire winter village with everything you need to discover the joy and excitement of winter. The village includes a 25,000 square foot lodge, skier service building and a country store. The lodge includes a food court, the Summit Restaurant and Grill Room, game room and a common area. The skier services building includes a professional snow sports school, ski shop, children’s program room and a ski and snowboard equipment rental shop. The country store offers convenience items and a deli.
